Alright, well... I've got my two Perculas in my QT tank. I noticed two days ago that the female has a couple growths on her side, along with labored breathing.
These growths do not look like the ich that I battled before, they are substantially (MUCH) larger... if an ich nodule would be compared to a grain of salt, I would compare these to be a good 6-10 times the size of the ich that tormented me a while ago... They are white cotton looking growths...
I do not suspect water chemistry to be a factor, as I change 2G of water every other day from the 10G tank... Even though there are no readings of ammonia or nitrites. Temp stays consistent at 79F.
Also, I do not suspect a poor diet to be the cause... I have been switching between: Prime Reef Flakes, Tetra Marine Flakes, and Tetra Spirulina Flakes - all of these either soaked in Vita-Chem or Selcon. Feeding happens in 6-8 very small portions through the day at extremely varied times.
Just in case this is another ich battle, I have already begun lowering the salinity down... But, given my prior experience, I really do not think this is the culprit...
I'm looking for input here!

sounds like a possible infection or fungus. Not ich.

It also seems to be some sort of infection/fungus, that the same spots have been in the same places for about four days now. The breathing rate is very high, but energy levels are still very high, and the clown is still feeding coraciously...
Any ideas as far as recommended treatment?

These look irregular in shape white and cottony? If so I do not know exactly what they are but if it is what I think they usually go away and seem related to importation stress, though this makes no sense in your particular case. Also I have heard they can be removed but I usually just let them go on there own. They have been compared to zits by some people. I hope this is what you have but I don't know without seeing.

That is a very good description... White, cottony, and irregular... Hopefully they will go away, I'll keep an eye on them I guess

Insure stability, was the fish introduced from a different SG tank by any chance? If so it should be fine and they will fade.

Spots are still there, exact same location... They are larger now... Definitely 100% ruled out as being ich... Would some sort of antibiotic treatment such as maracyn 2 potentially help? Also, what about a formalin bath process?

tough to say, if it is a fungas then maybe, but if it is NOT then just more stress.

Finally got one of the parents cameras... Here are the best pics I could get of the mystery growth... It's located behind the first stripe, kind of on the black portion... about halfway down her body...

I got a response on another forum that said it is probably a bacterial infection and to treat with Maracyn Two... Anyone think that would be a poor decision?

I guess macracyn2 would be a good thing to try but I would do it in a hospital tank.

They are in a 20G by themselves currently. There is about 30 pounds of rock with them... That way I don't have to do water changes every day... From what I understand, the maracyn shouldn't be harmful to the rock or bio filter.
Does Jo-Mar carry Maracyn Two or an equivalent?
