How deep is the tank going to be? If it is not very deep then 150 should be fine. Also what are you wanting to stock it with?

I would say the 150 would work. 250 might be a little better if you want the sps at the bottom but I would say the 150 might even be fine for that.

150 halide or T-5s would work fine.

Ron you think T-5's would run cooler than the MH thus a cooler running tank? I have heard mixed reviews on the temp of T-5 vs MH. Some say the T-5 is cooler and others say it's about the same heat as a MH just spread out and not concentrated at the source like a MH.

I know my t5's run pretty cool. I think my water might heat 1 or 2 degrees but that is it. I think it really depends on the setup you get. As long as it has a good active cooling system I think it runs cooler.

I really think it all depends on height off the water. If i had to say based on little info, i would say mh get much hotter than t5's. My MH's rock, i raised them about 10" off the water and now dont have any heat issues. A friend has 2 150ws over a 55g and they dont heat the water. I think you will be okay with MH as long as you dont set them directly on the tank. aquatraders.com (yeas, odyssea fixtures) has a 150w MH bucket with t5 actinics for $99 shipped.
