This coral was purchased in a group buy in 2006. It was split into several frags each going into 3 separate systems. One under 2X250 HQI 14K, another under 2X150 10K, and yet another under 3X150 10K. We have also experimented with it under PC at close proximity to water level. Best growth was obtained in both 250 and 150 HQI setups with high water flow with 2X250 14K DEs resulting in deeper purple. The Chain frag is from a colony I have at home under 2X150DEs. This coral is placed in the tank center in the falloff between 2 DE bulbs. It is also subject to intense water flow. Actual Coral the frag was taken from. The tank This frag was taken from: 120Gal CA=380-400 ppm Alk=3-3.5 pH=8-8.4 SG=1.025 (osmolator) Light=2X150 HQI (10 hours) Powerheads= 2 6100 Tunze stream on multi-controller interval 1 1 Wavebox, 2 Mag 7 returns Supplementation=Aquavitro (Seachem) full line excluding Calcification and 8 Four, Cyclopeeze(weekly), DTs Oyster Eggs(weekly)

Its been a couple weeks now so here we go. I took these pic's last night. They only show the one polyp but there is a second smaller one that has opened right behind it but can only be seen from the side. My tank: 110g 60x18x23 CA = 400-420 Alk = 9-10dkh PH = 8 - 8.3 SG = 1.025 Light = 2x250 SE 14K 8hrs + 2x54 T5HO True Actinic 03 12hrs Powerheads = 1-K3, 1-K4, & 1 Seio 1100 Return= Via Aqua 525gph

I figured it was time for a new photo. The PPE is doing very well and growing like crazy. The second polyp has almost caught up with original and polyp 3 is starting to open with a 4th not too far behind. In this pic you can see the new heads.

After a strange incident the PPE was moved to the shops 150 tank where it failed. Not only did it fail but I lost several zoas to an almost identical phenomena within 24 hours of placing the PPE frag in the tank. WE are unsure what happened and I began to run about 1 Lb of carbon on the tank which eventually seemed to stop the dying. This incident killed off many zoas in the 150 and affected the PPE colony there as well, it is still having a hard time.
This original link was lost but will be replaced by me as I have enough to do this. The next keeper will be announced at the next swap.
YOU MUST AGREE TO POST DATA here about the frag if you are chosen. If you can not do this please ask to have your name removed from the waiting list.

PPEs are no longer on the list, I almost lost my colony and they are just now starting to make a comeback. It will be a while before I begin fragging them again.

That sucks that you almost lost your colony.
