hey. been awhile since my intro thread, but things have been going well. ive been doing some reading and they suggest getting sand from established tanks to increase diversity. if anyone has some sand from there tank i could add to my sandbed it would be greatly appreciated. i have sand i could replace with. im also setting up a refugium, if anyone has some extra chaeto i could add to my refugium, that would be great. just send me a PM and we can work out the details. i live in huntington, but dont mind driving a little ways if it means making my tank better. thanks for everyones help. and happy reefing!

However, you need to becareful not to get pests as some people will also have them in their sandbeds. I have some chaeto you can have.

Be careful, lots of people have pets and parasites that they may not even be aware of. I have seen in this area, red bugs, red flatworms, monti eating nudis just to name a few. These are some of the things that you must be very careful with, some are hard to get rid of, others almost impossible.

phil, let me know when i could get some chaeto from you already got my refugium mup and running, just need something to put in it. i got an hait algae problem starting, and ive already cut back on my feedings, decreased the light cycle, and am doing water changes. i figure a refugium should seal the deal. and if you could spare a cup full of sand that would be great also. i can pay you for the chaeto and sand and for your trouble. i can meet you at jo mars ot anywhere you would like, just let me know. thanks.
