i recently picked up some swords for my 35 gallon tank, im pretty sure it has java ferns in it now, ALOT of them, they are nice plants, but not real dense for good hiding area's for fry, i have 4 serpae tetra's 2-3 kuhli loaches, 4-5 glow light tetra's and 5 swords (did have 6, one died over the first night it was in the tank, not sure what happened there) anyway im pretty sure the glow light tetra's would eat about any fry that would be born if the fry didnt have some good hiding places that the tetra's couldnt get them in.
anyway id like some advice on a good plant for fry, or if anyone has any forsale (preferably a local pet store)

I got tons of star grass (guppy grass) in my guppy tank. It needs weeded out this week.

whats a good time to get some from ya? and are you talking about at the store, or at your home?
by the way its a 35 gallon hex tank, not that it really matters, im running two 18" bulbs (probably need replaced) running off a ballast that was made for 4 48" bulbs, im assuming its very overdriven, and probably not good that the bulbs are almost 2 years old now, but it seems to provide plenty of light for the current plants.

At the shop, I don't sell from home anymore. alright, it may be this weekend before i can swing by, i may get a few more fish, for some reason 3 of the swords died, im going to do some water tests and do a 33% water change and clean the filters too, im sure it was something i did. im going to wait till the weekend though just to make sure the other 3 make it out alright, if they do fine, im going to hope that the water parameters are good now and the tank will support new fish life, the existing fish must have just been used to the off parameters. matthew

Guppy grass, hornwort, waterpest (anachris?), even java moss floating around may help. I'm sure there are lots others.
