can i keep a hippo/regal tang i dont know what people call it so im gonna say "dory" in a 55 gallon tank or is it too small cause i have heard of people keeping them in 55 gals but idk

It would probably not be a good idea. They really should be in at least a 75 gallon. I do know some people who have kept them in 55s.

I'll answer this, no. Not unless you are planning on having a 6 foot tank within 2 years. These are IMO not easy fish to keep and you will run into problems with them in small tanks. A healthy tang will grow about 75% of it's size the first year of life. This is also why it is important that they get the right food and care in the first year. IMO stay away unless you want a serious challenge that will end up costing money prob lots of it.
