I got this guy on sunday at jo mars. When I got home I placed him in the tank watched for a few minutes and went to sleep. The next morning it took some looking to find him, but eventually I did. He had gone behind all the live rock which was fine for my clown but not for me. Its not so much that I can barely see him if I stick my head between my tank and my wall, but its the fact I cant feed him at his present location. Ive tried changing the flow around didnt seem to help any. Hes not getting much light back there either which is why it seems strange that he has settled in this spot. Any ideas what I can try to do to get him to move from his present location, or can anyone think of anything that might be making him hide like that? Oh and please tell me if I'm over reacting and should just chill out and give it a few more days . Thanks

The one I use to have moved around for a few weeks before it settled on its spot. Give it some time and it will more than likely move again. I've heard of some moving around a tank for months before settling on a good spot so be patient.

That's normal BTA behavior, they know what they need, eventually it will come out to the light.

Thanks guys you have once again eased my mind. I just hope it does starve. Ron do you happen to remember the last time it was fed ?

As long as you have sufficient lights you don't need to worry it about it eating although with PC or VHO I usually fed them occasionally. While it's doing it's walk about, totally normal btw, don't forget to cover all your power heads intakes. BTA puree isn't pretty.

It was fed about 2 days before you got it. You should see the big one with the Maroon clown in it now, it's out really good this week.

All is good with my BTA it settled into a spot and has been doing really well. However I've noticed over the past couple days it has lost some of its tentacles. I see them only the substrate glowing in the blue leds and I even seen one come off the other day. He still looks inflated and normal. Anyone have a suggestion as to what hes doing is this normal?

I picked on up couple of weeks ago from Ron. Mine did a version of that. Mine picked a spot in back and went to it three times before I just left it there. No the silly thing extends its body close to a foot to stick its tentcales out in the light. Atleast it comes out and we can see it. It still has not went couple back to a bubble tip. The tentacles are mostly long and waving in the current. Is this OK? or is it still stressed?
