Ok i know this would really help if i had a picture but i couldnt snap one with my phone because he was quick.
He looked like a blenny to me. He was about 2.5 inches long and a little thicker than a pencil. He was black all the way down and his rear fin was bright yellow. They yellow did not come onto his body. He stayed hiding in a hole in a rock untill food was put in which he came out but stayed close to his rock. After taking a few bites he hid again.
My marine fishes book does not have him, the closest thing is a bi-color blenny but the bi-color is more purple and has a yellowish orange that does go onto the body.
Bert's has him and they dont know what he is for sure. They called jim and he didnt even knnow what they were talking about (the fish hides in a rock out of site hes been there a few weeks now They said i am the only one that has mentioned him)
I can get him pretty cheap if i decide i want him. But i dont want a mystery fish haha. Hes pretty, seems peaceful, looks like he would stay small.
Any ideas?

flame tail blenny, hard to find but not rare. Cant really find much info on him either but what i did find says hes territorial and needs a min of 30g, another site days hes a sweetheart and can stay in a 10g, one odd forum had a battle over what it is untill a fish store owner proved what it was, the actual owner paid 20$ and said it was "taste testing" his reef.
Took a bite of sps and didnt like it so spit it back out then ate a small feather duster...
So i dont know what to believe theres just not enough info on this little guy. I would love to have him because of his living habits but then the taste testing scares me away.
Another day another fish lol

Did you pick him up or just looking at it? I have heard that the blennies are odd, some of the same kind will eat corals and others won't. Watch it to see.
