I have a 110 gal tank I got from ebay. I have to sets of 90w compact florescentbulbs. Was wondering what type of coral will do well with those bulbs. I currently have xenia. and some buttons. Those so far are doing well.

Most low light coral will be fine under that lighting. Zoas, some leathers should do well. LPS wise a bubble should also do great under that light. Take your time and get a good halide unit that way you wont have any worries as far as light goes.

thanks, Thinking about some bubble coral anyway. I"ll have to save up for a better lighting system later.

Iits only 180 watt total pcs (90w of daylight, 90 actinic) that are probably 36" on a 5x18x27 tank and a few years old. That makes a big difference as well. So we can get a good answer. I am assuming basics. Leathers, xenia, mushrooms. Will zoas still do okay?
If it were me kevin, id leave the leather and anthelia in there and mostly do coral in your 55. Or get more lighting for the 110.

That tank was an anthelia factory when we had it.....Buttons also did great in there as did leathers, zoos, and that encrusting gorgonia I have so much of...

the tank is still doing great still have anthelia in it and lots of it. have some leathers also. just wanted to set up an actual coral tank so I could have more of a variety of corals. sort of a coral/dislpay tank. eventually will get better lighting and go reef on that one too.
