My girlfriend loves crabs (since she is from maryland). Her favorite is our emerald crab she named "dancy". well now he is in the 125 and is quite small. I have read about sally lightfoots some and wonder the pros and cons in a mixed reef? I know they can get quite large as well which is what I am looking for. Just dont want them to harm anything. I am open to any other reef safe crab suggestions that can grow larger as well.

I dont have any experience with them but I have read a lot of people having problems with them attacking fish and corals once they get big. I honestly dont know any pros or cons besides what I just said, I dont remember anything else about them.
Thats what you hear with just about any crab though. Except the sally lightfoot gets pretty big where most stay small.

Hmm.. may stick with the emerald then. I just like to have many different interesting (but safe) things in my tank. I have seen my emerald swipe at fish when they annoy him... its hilarious. LOL and he fights with the peppermint shrimp sometime. He has never molted yet that I have seen though. My shrimp molt constantly.

I like crabs as well but most arent safe.
Like I said though I have no experience with them, that is just something I read from a bunch of people. But of course alot of people would tell you no hermits either so without the experience its hearsay, keep asking around.
