Help. I bought some hermits and snails from the group buy. I thought maybe the nassarius snails would go in the sand and eat the stuff in there. Problem, the blue leg and my largest red leg hermits are eating every nassarius snail they got there little claws on. Now I don't know what to do I really need something to go in sand and eat junk and the hermits don't do that.
They are not even killing them for their shells because the hermits are way bigger than the snails.

Usually hermits wont kill stuff unless they want the shells. I would suggest moving the hermits away from the snails until they have time to go into the sand bed.

I moved the hermit out the way of the other snails and i dug a trench in the sand about 1/2 inch or so down and scooted the snails in it and then gently covered them up. I haven't seen them come back out though. I hope they don't die in there and mess up my balance. I do know why I freaked over the hermits eating them. I figured the puffers would be the ones to eat them.
