After seeing this fish at Jo'mars I cant stop thinking about how cool he looked. I was wondering if my 55 gallon tank was big enough for him? From what I've read they need a lot of substrate, but I was thinking maybe theres a dwarf version. Can anyone make a suggestion about a species I can look into getting? Also how long should I wait before my tank would be ready for something like this? Its about 3 months old now. Thanks

There are many many gobies, the coolest IMO are the smaller shrimp gobies like the Yasha gobby (rare though). If you look in the 54 corner up from of the shop you will see him and his little shrimp friend hanging out from time to time. Sand sifters are not only cool looking they are great for a system IMO that is if you dont mind digging coral out from under the sand time to time. They stir/sift the sand and if you have enough flow it along with millions of micro fauna can find its way into suspension and help feed Softies and LPS. Like I said there are some problems with them but I like them for tanks with sand, and it doesn't have to be deep, only an inch or two will be fine. You should be ready to add one by now IMO, BTW we should have several different ones coming in today.
