Ok guys i went overboard today lol I went down to berts and ended up leaving with a blue velvet damsel... Man are they pretty. Hes in a 10g at the moment. will be moved to a 20 after its setup.
I wanted to hear some opinions on these guys. hes the only fish in tank and will stay that way for awhile. maybe get another one to give him company, they seem to do alright together even knowing they are damsels,
what would be good tankmates down the road? are they safe for corals?
any info will be appreicated on these guys. they seem to be the friendliest of damsels i have seen..
ordering refractometer tonight hopefully. im tired of this hydrometer

well I got bad news, they are OK small but as they grow they will become more teritorial. I'm not sure of anything they won't fight later on. Coral won't be a problem though.

my maxijet 1200 dont have the little round endcap on it and i just had to get a small damsel I was out of the house for a little while and i came back and couldnt find him nowhere ( he was looking happy when i left, some algae to nibble on and he was to plenty of hidey holes and only 2 hermits as tankmates) so i start looking around and i notice my powerhead isnt blowing very hard and sure enough he was in it... at keast half of him was... i dont have the end caps so i have to figure something out

I think I would definately find some endcaps to fit it or make some kind of guard for it if possiple. If that doesnt work I would get a new ph and use that one to mix you water change water.

I have some of that semi stiff filter stuff, its for a pond pump but its never been used, its kinda like that extra piece they put in hang on filters that catch the bigger pieces.
Im doing some experimints with that. i cut a piece that was bigger than the tube and put it inside the tube it stayed in place and didnt go to the blade on the ph. But it drastically reduced the flow, it was to thick. but now ive got the idea of cutting a piece bigger than the tube and cut a small indented hole in it to slip over the outside and have a thin layer cover the suction hole till i upgrade, i dont know where to get the endcaps so for now just gotta rig it

Next time I get to town I will check my storage unit and make sure. But I think I had some in storage, as I was using them for top off and water mixing. Plus I never threw anything away. So I had about a dozen. I think I had cleaned all the small pieces I did not plan to use in the near future and packed them up and they went to storage. I believe there was a box of hangon filters there when I moved everything to a different unit, so he would not know where my stuff was. I had put a bunch of stuff like that into the box with the hangons.

i have 2 maxi jet 1200s they only need the strainer type piece that goes on the end of the tube. i rigged some coarse filter on it for now but if you have extra caps i would really appreciate them.

That would be great if you do, i have 2 maxijets but even having 1 cap will be better than none. Just drop it off at jo-mars if you do have it and let me know that way i can go get it.
i would really appreciate them
