My orange spotted watchman has been in and out hiding the last couple days. Today I find him at the bottom of the tank barely breathing. Looks like he is melting (I am afraid of a PH issue). My other fish have been scratching a little but don't show any signs. He shows no signs of ich or anything either. Nothing has changed in the tank. I will run params tonight when I get home from work. I am pretty sure he is a goner. My fiance is upset. I bought him for her. He was really cool. He would lay over on his side and let the peppermint shrimp clean him. I was just talking last night how good he ate and how good he was doing in someone else's post. How long do gobys get? He was about 4.5 inches long or so. I was thinking he was fairly old. I havent had him for just a few months. Anyway... :-(

He did not :-( The shrimp grabbed him and pulled him back under the rocks. The fiance about destroyed the tank trying to get him out too. Will have to go home and clear this wreck. I need that 75 up and running soon. Tired of dealing with this small tank.

I believe it is solely bc of the crushed coral that was in there. He hardly ever filtered. He ate good when I feed frozen. I have hated that crushed coral since day one, hence why the new tank will have sand.

Sorry to hear about your fish. You may also just consider bare bottom if you want to do alot of SPS as the flow needed will make a mess. I love my sand but hate that I have limited ways of pointing my powerheads so they dont mess the sand up to bad.

The CC is hard on sandsifting fish. Myself I like CC substrate but I think BB tanks are the best. However, with BB tanks you cant have any cool sand sifting inverts.

Agreed... yeah the shrimp wanted to eat him. It was a peppermint shrimp. I have 3 of them. All of the fish who were effected by the issue let the shrimp clean them. I figured out what my problem was too... ammonia burn.. its all my fault. I didnt know how to clean the canister filter properly.. when I took the canister filter out it burnt my nose and hands.. :-( Lesson learned the hard way
