Ok i have several different corals not opening up like they normal do the frog spawn and kenya tree most noticeably. but the mushrooms and polyps are opening great. what would be causing this?

Water tests would be a good starting point... Along with any recent changes

Yes, check water first. Post with results. I just went through this and was shocked when I ran the tests.

yeah or if you did water changes or changed the flow. Slight things can make a coral mad for a day or two then they will be alright. Test your water though, because if its something out of whack you need to address it.

Ok found out my alkalinity is low. but everything else looks ok. What would i use to bring my alkalinity up.

I suggest buying some two part additives to regulate cal and alk. If you get them inline you may want to set up a kalk reactor to help keep them in balance.
