I bought my first IMPULSE fish last weekend. It is a male anthias, I have not been able to identify if yet! Beautiful guy! approx 3" long, pink creamy body with bright pink lyretail, top fin is bright pink -edged in deep red with back end solid red and front end is orange and shaped like a firefish underbelly yellow, dorsal? (underneath) fins are clear and have 2 large spots-1 orange & the other pink-both sides are the same, spots make it look like a koi! has a orange stripe under eye that goes back to lower fins, blue eyes. Has a attitude and eats like a hog. Could be a imposter anthias!

You have to have Java enabled and downloaded on your browser. Some people using Explorer have trouble. You might want to try firefox. Here is the link again if you need it: client4.addonchat.com/sc.php?id=212184

I have a yellow tang that is sick and I do not know what it is this is what he looks like. He has a whit dot by his tail and a white stripe down each side. On 5-5-09 I got a clown fish at NON-sponsored fish store. If you wish to become a sponsor please contact an admin today and it was whit on it's face he died the next day so I took him back I asked them what he had they said they did not know if you or any one dose let me know? ? So I can help the fish I have be for they all die Thank you a lot!

Do you have a picture of the tang? It would help out quite a bit. The white stripe down the side happens at night when the lights are out and that is natural. When the lights come back on it should go back to a solid yellow.
Is that what you are talking about?

He probably had ich. The best thing to do when you buy a new fish is to keep it in a quarantine tank for a couple weeks to observe it. Then if it breaks out with an infection you can treat it there before it goes into your display tank and infects numerous fish. It also costs a lot less to treat a small tank.

From the **** above I take it this fish was from a LFS that's not a sponsor so... I don't come into the area much but when I do I only go to the ones listed here. If I go in to a non sponsored store and I see something chances are I'm going to get it even though I know better so I just stay away, my tank is healthy I am happy and I don't loose a bunch of money on one bad investment. I say listen to what these guys are saying they helped me a great deal. My 2 cents on it.

It would really help to get a pic, even if it is with a cell phone. You can take a pic and email it to yourself and post it up. If there is no ich than I wouldn't treat for it. Do you keep corals in the same tank?
The color difference in like a night time camo, it is very normal. They will get very pale and have that stripe down the side. When the lights come back on they return to their normal bright yellow. If you aren't expecting it then it can really throw you off.

Do not treat your display tank unless you are 100% sure the treatment is safe for coral and inverts. There are only a few SAFE meds out there that work and most have to be ordered on line. No Sick Fish has a good track record but it is expensive stuff. Again NEVER treat for anything unless you know that it is present in the system, you can do far mor harm than good.

That is how we all learn. I didn't know either. I had to look it up after I got mine. Now that I know though I love to go check out all of my fish in the dark. Moon lights let you see some of what happens when the lights go down. Your tank is a whole different place at night. It is really very exciting.
Worth the try.
