Yes, most replace them after 7-8 months.

Most of the research I have done say that t5 bulbs last between 12 and 18 months as long as your fixture has sufficient cooling. If you are doing SPS definately dont go over about 12 months.

I would say 12 months would be a good time for a change. Some people say they will last longer but I think it may be pushing it.
