ANY Ideas????

Well, my wife and I were on Kiawah Island in South Carolina last week and while wondering the beach we found all kinds of neet things lying around from live star fishes (the size of paper plates) to live sand dollars and horseshoe crabs....VERY neet stuff washes up on the beach there.... But the most interesting piece was this one pictured... It was about 12"-14" long, about 6"-8" wide and about 2"-3" thick.... and very bright orange...... it was very firm to touch not like rock hard but deffinately not soft and spongee..... This was laying right in the edge of the surf in about and inch or less of water......Any ideas?

It looks like a stomach of something or someone.

LOL yea that it does..... and you would have thought so but it was VERY rigid not flexible at all but at the same time it wasn't hard like a rock to push on.... it was much brighter orange than the pictures show and the "spots" that you see all over it are actually circular formations of small dots.... if you click and enlarge the bottom picture the become more noticeable.... they almost look like polyp openings... it was wierd....

Maybe a sea cucumber you should send it to webmd.com and see what they say.
