Ok to start this post I am going to ask about trigger pods. www.reefnutrition.com/tiggerpods/index.htmAnyone ever try them? Do they breed easy? feeding? can they live on normal tank conditions? as in no needed supplements. They cant harm anything can they? whats the difference in regular pods and trigger pods? is it just color? Are they worth the money if you need pods in your tank?

i just ordered some from precision aqua tech and got them last friday. they were horrible. you can not see them at all in my tank that the were soo small. i supposedly got 1000 but i wonder. they said they would grow in 5-7days. i enjoy watching them but everytime ive seen them their a little less then 1/4in long so you could see them really well.

IMO Pods are a gimmick, you get them over time with live rock, the population explodes then your fish come along and whittle it back down, its all about the balance. Now if you have a large refugium then a Pod jump start is fine but adding them directly to a tank is not that beneficial from what I have observed and there are many many Co out there making a killing off of these micro fauna not that there is anything wrong with that. I just say be patient and spend your money on more important things. As for Pods, Now "Mega-Pods" those were some nice pods

i would just like to give a boost to my tank because i dont really see any in it (the 10 to be 20 not the 2g) i saw at berts they had some half off because of the shelf life date but looking in the bottle they were all alive and active. just dont want to buy them without knowing

Ok i did a little bit more research on them. And then i went and bought them. I figured it cant hurt nothing and they were going cheap, the bottle said there was double density 2000 - 4000 of the little critters (some dont even have the red color yet they are so small others are pretty nice looking. the bottle also said they range in size from 250-1700 microns...
I put some in my 2 gallon (not many because its already full of critters just wanted more diversity) and then i put the majority of them in my other tank. I turned off the pumps for a little bit to let them settle in so they wouldnt all be sucked up right away. They were loving the extra space they had that tank covered lol. After about 10 minutes they settled onto the glass and rocks so i slowly started turning on my pumps. That was last night.
This morning i looked into the tank and didnt see any at first so i looked harder. Sure enough they are all over the sand, rocks, and chaeto. There arent as many on the glass right now. I read that they rapidly reproduce with females carrying like 200 eggs per batch. I hadnt been seeing any pods what so ever in that tank so i had to get some in there. The majority of the rock in that tank was dead so i didnt have much to bring any in on. I will be slowly adding more lr once its in the 20 (hopefully in the next day or 2)
But they are very attractive and i love how they kinda twitch theirselves up into the water column.
And besides half price lol. They have time to reproduce and everything since the only inhabitants are 2 hermits and 2 snails and 2 tiny feather dusters lol.
They took right at home in the 2 gallon also, i believe a few of them was eaten by the corals (they were bouncing around everywhere at first and a few hit corals and dissappeared) the small ones at least.
Them breeding will produce a phytoplankton kind of effect will it not?
Anyways im happy about it.
