I have a small spot or two on the bottom that I can not get the right amount of flow to.( too much and sand goes everywhere or too little and I have a brown growth during the day)
What do you have as sand sifters? I have a shallow layer of CC- very fine. Looking for a neat addition that will help with this issue. So anyone has ideas I am ready.
Stars, shrimps, crabs, etc...
I have about a dozen crabs and somewhere between 100 and a million snails(or something that looks like snails) so most of tank and glass stay ok just two spots on the bottom.

I bought some nassarius snails and I see them down in the sand alot. I want to get some sort of sand sifting star if they are reef safe.

By the way I asked Ron about the ninjas and he said they didnt dig in the sand. At least I think those were the ones I asked him about.

I would say the gobies that dont sift would be ok but the sifters I dont think could live as they would not fit the cc out their gills. Someone should verify that before you take that as fact though.

Sand siftting Gobbies do need fine sand no crushed coral or larger pebles as they can not pass it through the gills.

Crushed coral is terrible for a goby. Mine would not filter it.
